Spey / switch cork handle fly rod build kit, 11" fore 4.75" rear grip, suitable for two-handed rods 10' - 12'6"
A convenient and affordable build kit with good value and quality components that will serve you well, saving around 10% compared to buying the components individually.
Handle: 11" extended full wells style fore grip. Rear grip 4.75". AAA cork with duracork ends.
Available in downlock configuration for better rod balance, the rear grip is inlet to take a reel seat reverse mounted.
If you buy the kit with one of our blanks in the same order, we will also ream the grip to fit the blank if required).
We recommend also buying a winding check (product link below), to fit the OD of your blank at 18"/46cm from the butt end.
Optional upgrade to Great Cork grade handle,10" fore 4.5" rear. Great cork can also be inlet for uplocking reel seats on request, send us a message.
Guides: Appropriately sized Pac Bay or Seaguide snake or single foot guide set,13 guides total plus a large loop tiptop. Silver-chrome, Smoky or TiCH black PVD finish to colour match the reel seat. Select the line rating and tiptop size you require. Choose between three stripping guide options: ceramic lined standard upright or angled anti-tangle, or traditional style with a heavy duty metal ring.
Light sets (spey/switch #2/3/4) start with a size #1 running guide, and include a #10 and #12 stripping guide.
Medium sets (spey/switch 4-8) start with a #2 running guide, and include #12 and #16 strippers.
Heavy sets (spey/switch #7-10) starts with a #3 running guide, and include #12 and #16 strippers.

Reel seat: All supplied with two lock rings and a fighting butt trim band. The 'Light' and 'Medium' option includes UL6 braided reel seat with brown burlwood insert.
Light and Medium: UL6 braided seat, suits spey/switch blanks up to 11mm butt OD, spey/switch line rating 2-8. A smoky finish UL6 seat will be supplied with chrome or smoky guides, a black seat with TiCH black guides.
Heavy: UL8 all metal seat to fit blanks up to 15mm but OD, spey/switch line rating #7-11. Available in silver, smoky or black finish, the seat and guides will be colour matched.
Spey build kits with a cork handle are also available for 12'6" - 15' rods, and there as a kit option with a carbon fibre handle, both listed separately.
