DL1 cap and ring fly rod reel seat 

Well-made, good value and ultra light-weight down-locking cap and sliding ring style reel seat in silver, smoky or black anodised finishes. The reel seat is unassembled and supplied with a mortised insert in nice cork, walnut or figured sandalwood . The mortice provides a channel that helps to securely hold the reel foot. Suitable for rods up to line weight #5 using any of my cork grips, and especially well matched with a cigar style grip. This style of seat particularly suits traditional style and light line fly rods for stream fishing. There is no reel seat hood so grip inletting is not required.

Please note that this seat should fit any AFFTA standard sized reel seat foot. But it may not fit reels with a thicker or wider than normal reel seat foot, which includes many older/vintage reels. 

For blanks with a butt diameter larger than the 9mm insert bore the DL1 reel seat can also be mounted by trimming the butt end of the blank and fitting a spigot or stent of 7-8.5mm diameter to take the reel seat. Make sure your spigot will fit the butt of your blank first!
